Wrench Laydown Parts and Extensions

Each Laydown Kit includes the full main body Laydown and the matching Extension (2 Pieces).

Standard Laydown and Extensions How To:

• Standard Laydown Kits and Extensions are designed to go on the BACK side of your wrench organizer.  
• These are what allow you to have a full wrench set, up to 32mm and 1-1/4", all in a standard shallow tool box drawer, saving all sorts of space in your tool box layout. 
• For ideas on how many of what kind you need, check out my large organizer wrench set descriptions.  I go through what is used for each of my full Metric and SAE kits. 
• Every single laydown kit must use the Starter and Starter extension 1st.  It has 3 main jobs within your organizer:
  • The start of laying down your wrenches
    
  • Serving as a wrench guard so opening your drawer and stopping it too quickly doesn't stand the 1st wrench laid down straight up.  
  • And finally, keeping your first laid down wrench out of making contact with the vertical wrench directly in front of it.  
• The Standard Laydown and Laydown Extension is a 2nd angle of laydown trailing behind the Starter Laydown and Starter Laydown Extension. 
• Finally, the Far Laydown and Laydown Extension 
• ZIGZAGS 
  • Available as ZIGZAG - Right Side Extension (meaning you plan on putting your extensions on the right side of the main body wrench organizer) - My SAE large kit is just that as you can see in the pictures. 
  • Or available as ZIGZAG - Left Side Extension (meaning you plan on putting your extensions on the left side of the main body wrench organizer) - My Metric kit is "Left Side Extension" as you can see in the pictures. 
  • These offset your extensions as your wrenches taper in size so your extensions can hold wrenches throughout your set and have the same male / female tapered dovetail locking joint as the extensions.  

Front Laydown and Laydown Extension How to:

• *IMPORTANT* - Only ONE Front Laydown and Laydown Extension Part from the the choices listed should be used for placing your Laydown kit at the front of your wrench organizer instead of the standard at the back.  The rest of your kit will be STANDARD laydown parts and NOT front parts. 
• All the various Front Laydown parts listed here are simply bridging the gap to the front of your organizer but keeps the rest the same.
• The reason every part of the laydown could be a front is to make up for the fact that you only may need to laydown one wrench (say the 1") so you would grab a front starter and front starter extension.
  
• Maybe you only have 2 wrenches that need laying down, then you grab a front standard laydown and extension kit along with a standard starter laydown and extension kit (not front).  (IE - that's what's pictured in the first picture at the bottom) 
• Therefore, you only need to know what part you are connecting to the front of your main wrench organizer (IE - what size and how many wrenches do you need to lay down!?). 
• The Front Laydown part you choose will be for your largest wrench as that's the furthest back on the laydown kit.  The ending laydown (the one closest to the front) will always be the starter laydown. 
• With standard shallow drawers and smaller tool boxes or kits, it's not uncommon that if you have 2 full sets of wrenches (SAE and Metric) that the longest wrench in each set is longer than over 1/2 the width of your shallow drawer.  Therefore, both can't be laid down next to each other in the back. 
• This kit allows you to place your laydown kit on the front side, eliminating the hassle of not having space for both large kits in a standard small tool box drawer. 
• This does NOT reverse the order of wrenches in the laydown kit and laydown extension.  Due to the nature of laying it down, the biggest wrench will still be the one at the furthest towards the back of the Laydown Kit placed on the front side of your wrench organizer that starts the front laydown kit.  
• Combine this with a reverse direction modular slimline wrench block, single wrench builders as needed, and both your large kits will run nicely next to each other saving a huge amount of tool box real estate.  One counting up as standard.  While the other counts down. 

Accent & Wrench Line Coloring:

• Accent and Wrench Line Coloring allow you to personalize your wrench organization to however you see fit. 
• The accent color is added to the top of the organizer spanning around the last 4 mm of height (as seen in the photos).   This allows you to easily identify which group, type, or kind of wrenches you set this up for yourself.  For example, say you want all the wrench bodies to be black.  Adding red and blue accent coloring to the black could easily allow you to distinguish which wrench sets in your tool box are Metric / SAE / Specialty, etc.   
  
• The Wrench Line color, matching the accent color, spans the area where the wrench would be resting on, giving you a visual clue if the wrench is not in the organizer.   It is there for a visual aide being able to scan your tool box for tools that are not put away.

• N52 Magnets throughout to help hold wrenches in place and the organizer firmly to your tool box / cart drawer.  
• Uniquely designed tapered dovetail lock joints that make sure each modular section does not come apart.  Each modular section "snaps" together and stays together. 
• Almost twice as wide and twice the material used as most competitor products allowing a solid firm hold on the orientation of every wrench in the organizer
• Height of the organizer goes all the way to the top of standard tool box shallow drawer.  This keeps your wrenches secure when on the move and the drawer is closed.  This design does not allow wrenches to slide out of organizer or to jump out of the organizer over the harshest of terrains as a road tech.
