No. Every MAGTATCH model is engineered specifically for its corresponding battery footprint. The perimeter armor provides maximum drop protection while leaving the dual battery release latches and LED fuel gauge indicator windows 100% accessible. You can eject and re-attach batteries to your tools normally.
How do I install the MAGTATCH on my battery?
Zero screws, bolts, or zip-ties are required. Place your MAGTATCH on a flat metal surface (the magnets help stabilize it), align your battery with the cordless tool attached to give you comfortable leverage, and slide it firmly into the housing until seated.
Can I charge the battery with the MAGTATCH still installed?
On open-faced slide chargers (such as many standard Milwaukee and DeWalt chargers), the battery slides into the terminal slots with the MAGTATCH on. If your specific rapid charger features deeply recessed battery cradles, the slip-on design allows you to pop the protector off and back on in seconds.
